The 5th Annual Run/Walk for the Fallen in Rome, NY will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 0900 at the B-52 site located on Perimeter Road on the old Griffiss AFB. I am inviting anyone who wants to participate; friends, families and children. You only have to run/walk one mile, but you may run/walk more if you desire. There is no fee just a sense of honor. Bibs and release forms will be available one hour prior to the start of the run.
This local run is in honor of our own local soldiers Army Pfc. Gregory P. Huxley, Jr., Army Captain George Wood, Army Sgt. Michael Uvanni, Marine Sgt. Elisha R. Parker, Army Cpl. John Sigsbee, Army Sgt. Christopher C. Simpson, Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Alec Mazur, Marine Lance Cpl. Daniel J. Geary, Army Cpl. Michael Mayne, Marine Lance Cpl. Blaise A. Oleski, Marine Lance Cpl Jeremy S. Lasher, Army Spc. Blair Thompson, Army Sgt. Edward Bolen and Air Force Tsgt Adam K. Ginett and/or any one else you would like to honor who has paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I am honored to be a part of this event and my hopes are that you will be too. If anyone has any questions or plans to participate please contact me Jeannine L. Olney at bejeweledrunner@yahoo.com

I will be attending this, if others would like to go, let me know and I'd like to do this together.

Spread the word.

Great Changes

Sorry I have been unable to update the Blog lately. The browser of my computer was outdated and not supported by the Blog website.

Thanks to the hard work and dilligent efforts of our IT staff, I have been uploaded, upgraded, and updated to the new improved version of Windows with all its high speed, low drag efficiencies.

Stand by as I begin to post the myriad of information I have been collecting to this point while awaiting techno-improvements.

Thanks for your patience.

Inspiring Words

I cherish the opportunity to interact with our Surviving Families on Facebook and through this Blog. When we take the time to share what is on our mind and in our soul we not only help ourselves, but we give others the freedom to do the same. Recently I read the post below and it touched me on so many levels and I asked Sarah for permission to share this on our newsletter.
"Once again I find myself surrendering to the only constant in this life. Jesus says he will never leave us and I know first hand how true that is. I would give anything to have Ryan here with us. This is not how it is supposed to be. When another child says "my dad is in afghanistan", the words "my dad's dead" are so foreign.

Yet, if what we are living for is a lifetime of worship with the King, we can not forget; that while one year ago today caused great sadness on Earth, in Heaven there was a great celebration. Happy 1 Year in Forever honey. Miss you lots!"
